LOOK AT THE LEOPARD

…. accept the fact that sustainable hunting gives every species in Africa the opportunity and space to survive and thrive

In 2013 this journey started

The mission is to bring as many people as possible to hunt and experience Africa. Because only when you walk out into the African bush, searching for your quarry, feeling the heat of the sun on your face, smelling the dust and the spiciness on the wind, do you become alive in the game of life. This is where you realize that the leopard never apologizes for being the silent solitary hunter, that the Impala enjoys the bounty from the bush fully, even when he is constantly on the lookout for predators. This is where life and death walks besides each other twenty-four hours a day, three hundred and sixty five days of the year.

This is where you find yourself part of the game of life as it were when earth was created. This is where you come alive when you realize the line between life and death is but a breath wide.

Bona Inkwe Safari’s looks at the leopard and accepts the fact that sustainable hunting gives every specie in Africa the opportunity and space to survive and thrive. We take up the responsibility to conserve our beautiful natural habitat for future generations, by being responsible caretakers of what was entrusted to us.

More about Danie

Danie Stander is the owner and professional hunter for Bona Inkwe Safaris. He grew up in the bush, in a time when there was no game fences and every available piece of land was used to farm crops and cattle. “When I was a young boy, we were living on a farm about 20km away. This farm was in our family for four generations, and like everyone else we were planting crops and raising cattle. The only “wild” animals we ever saw were some duiker and steenbuck, warthogs and bushpigs. There was a herd of kudu that roamed our farm and the neighbouring farms, but there wasn’t many of them. We maybe saw them once or twice a year. No Impala. No eland. No wildebeest. Nothing. Only when people started to erect game fences and international hunters started coming to our area, did you see all these “new” animals coming in! Now we can go on a ten minute drive and I can show you buffalo…”

Danie has been a professional hunter since 2011. He is a qualified dangerous game PH and has extensive experience in South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia. He is married to Hester, a medical doctor, for twenty one years, and they have four children.
